Seeking intuitive detectives
June 2025
I’ve been busy cooking up a big, new offering that will launch later this summer, and it is taking up most of my creative, deep-thinking energy. So for this month’s post I am going to do some crowd-sourcing!
In my psychic potluck supper that I wrote about last month, we would often share experiences that were open to different interpretations and understandings. Instead of trying to tell someone how to understand their experience, each of us would interpret it as if it were our own. For example, “If that were my dream, to me it would mean…” This led to some lively, vulnerable, and surprising exchanges that would often have unexpected resonances for the original sharer.
So here is the experience: I went out into my backyard the other day to take a photo of a patch of blooming irises. When I looked through my camera lens I saw this unusual light reflection (pictured above). I moved the camera around, looked up and around it, and tried to figure out what was causing it. Something on my lens? Something in the air? Whatever it was, I couldn’t recreate it anywhere else. This particular light stayed right where it was.
If you saw this light formation in your backyard, what would you think it was? What would be your intuitive interpretation or scientific explanation?
Reply with your response starting with, “If I saw this light formation in my backyard…” and I will compile and share them (anonymously) below. Take it lightly, have fun, and get intuitive or scientific! I really do want to hear what you think — if you share a response, I will use my intuition to pick a divination card for you with a loving message of guidance.
I look forward to hearing from you. And I’m so excited to invite you into an empowering new way of working together — stay tuned!

Interpretive responses so far
“If I saw this light formation I would think it was the spirit of the land, maybe of those mugwort plants.”
“If I saw that light pattern I would assume that sunlight is being unusually focused thru varying leaves blocking the rest of it.”
“If I saw this light formation in my backyard, I would think it likely I was in the presence of a spiritual presence (being of light, angel, energy field, etc.), and I would pause, empty my mind, and listen in case the presence was here to visit or communicate with me.”
“If I saw this light formation in my backyard, I would think that, because of the ways of nature, the position of the sun and trees were in perfect balance at that moment and that I was meant to be in that place and time to see this light formation.”
“If I saw this light formation I might think it is a giant spider web reflecting the light.”
“If I saw this light formation I would think, are there little men descending from that space ship?”
“If I saw this light formation in my backyard I would think it could be like a wood nymph, or a member of my spiritual team admiring the flowers. They seem to be enjoying them in full bloom. It feels like a very nurturing presence.”
“If this was in my yard, I would write to SterlingPsychicMedium. He’s on YouTube and does a show on Sunday’s and answers questions like this as well as political questions. This definitely seems to be other worldly.”
“If this was in my yard I would think it was God!”
“I am such a linear, practical thinker. Also a huge skeptic. And yet something in me tells me that this is more than just light. If I saw this in my backyard, the first thing I would say is ‘Hi, Dad.’”
“My first thought is Iris energy in the air . . . or some other spirit wanting to communicate.”
“If I saw this in my backyard, I would think it was a blessing.”
“If that was in my backyard, I would say it looks to be a diaphanous manifestation of divine energy. I think it's magical!”
And last, one responder shared the photo with ChatGPT to get its analysis:
This photo evokes a powerful feeling of presence, clarity, and unseen energy. Interpreted symbolically:
Sunlight Breaking Through: Often seen as a metaphor for illumination, clarity, divine presence, or inspiration — especially when it cuts through darkness or shadow.
Misty Beam (Center-Left): The light in the middle-left of the image looks like an orb or energy field. Some might interpret this as:
A spiritual presence or guardian-like energy.
A visual representation of subtle energies (like the biofield or aura).
Purple Irises: Purple is associated with intuition, higher consciousness, and transformation. Irises in mythology often represent messages from the divine or transitions between realms.
Balance of Light and Shadow: Suggests a harmony between the seen and unseen, between clarity and mystery — like a liminal moment.
