I love summer's languorous vibe, and yet I don't function well in high temperatures -- when it's too hot I panic and go into fight, flight, or freeze mode.
Much of the work I do involves helping clients disengage an overactive stress response, and I realized that the summer presents lots of opportunities for me to practice this myself. When the heat is just uncomfortable and not actually life threatening, panicking does more harm than good.
Whether it's weather or something else that triggers your stress response, I find that these practices below (from previous posts) help reset both my physiology and my mindset. Give them a try and let me know how it goes!
